Raymond Hodges, a student at RLS in the 1950s, died peacefully on 14th November, aged 77. Ray was involved in many of the school’s Gilbert and Sullivan productions and on leaving school, became a prominent member in the Twyford and wider community. He was a much loved and respected man involved in Chapel, School and Local Government. Most of all, he will be missed by his wife and family.
His daughter Carolyn, a student herself at RLS, had accepted an invitation to speak at the last Archive Open Day in May of this year. Unfortunately Raymond was taken ill, and Carolyn was visiting him in hospital and unable to attend RLS. However, on his recovery he came into the Archive Room one Sunday afternoon with his daughter – to meet a fellow student Geoff Kirk and the writer. An occasion to remember!
The funeral is in Twyford U.R.C. 11:00am, Wednesday 27th November.
