Continuing the RLS tradition, Harry’s daughter Carolyn Hands was a Prefect in 1967 and Head Girl in 1968 before joining the WRENS and becoming a Lieutenant specialising in communications and training. Leaving in 1980 Carolyn then travelled in New Zealand and Australia before a Management career with major UK and International Companies and an NHS Trust. Carolyn returned to the Royal Navy as a civilian to run Warfare Training at HMS Collinwood, leaving and retiring in 2010.
